From SFF to Eurofactor, a half-century dedicated to financing business
Société Française de Factoring (SFF) - the first company in France to offer factoring services - was born on May 5th, 1964. Initially created to meet the needs of American import companies, this technique reserved for international trade was quickly extended to the domestic market.
The mergers of SFF and SLIFAC (a specialised subsidiary of Crédit Lyonnais), and later with TRANSFACT (a Crédit Agricole subsidiary) - steered by Crédit Agricole’s desire to become the reference in the factoring market - created Eurofactor, the Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring brand now dedicated to factoring.
Over the years, factoring has evolved: initially used by SMEs to overcome temporary difficulties, it has become a lasting management option in each stage of a company’s life. As the #1 in factoring in France since 2006, Eurofactor meets the needs of businesses and professionals to finance and manage their accounts receivable, both for their day-to-day business and their development plans in France and abroad.
An innovative forerunner …
A pioneer in the factoring market, over the years Eurofactor has been a forerunner in supporting companies of all sizes. For example, in 2001, it launched “Rechargement de balance” - a service highly valued by large companies which made it possible to finance their outstanding client ledger balance.
In 2007, Eurofactor launched “Créances Services” - a brand new service for professionals that allows them to finance the invoices of their choice online, and within 24 hours.
Also during this period, Eurofactor pursued its development abroad, establishing itself in a sixth country: Italy. This decision followed the inclusion of two regional banks in the Crédit Agricole Group: Cariparma and FriulAdria, and also made Eurofactor the first French factoring company to operate on a European scale.
Today, Eurofactor is a major partner in Bpifrance, helping to create and grow small businesses, with a dedicated service offering to finance their invoices and fully manage their accounts receivable.
… that still has innovations in store for the real economy
As of next June, Eurofactor will launch the first mobile factoring app for smartphones and tablets, enabling companies and professionals to finance their invoices wherever they are, and whenever they wish.
Moreover, Eurofactor is heavily committed to the digitalisation and security of business operations, through a working group run by the Association des Sociétés Financières.
Our 50th anniversary is also a chance to modernise the Eurofactor brand … come back in September to see it unveiled!
